***Our Thoughts***
This is the first book by Debbie Mason that I’ve read and though I wish I had read the first book in the Harmony Harbor series, Mistletoe Cottage first, I didn’t feel lost here. I really enjoyed the way Mason told this story, and Ava and Griffin are one of my favorite couples now!
A long time ago, Ava and Griffin were blissfully in love and married when suddenly, Ava broke things off, breaking Griffin’s heart (and hers) in the process. She doesn’t want Griffin to know what happened to make her leave him, but it got written down in a journal and now everyone is trying to find the journal. There’s a little paranormalcy going on here in the form of Ava’s grandmother, which was one of my favorite parts. It reminded me a bit of a fic I read a long time ago that I can’t remember the name of but I really loved.
I was rooting for Ava and Griffin the whole time and thought they were perfect for each other. Mason definitely expertly wove their history in with the feelings they can’t deny now. I love that Griffin saw past what has happened to Ava’s life and can’t help himself but still have feelings for her.
I wasn’t a fan of the fact that Griffin remarried. I know that is dumb, but I can’t help it. And I didn’t really like the wife.
Starlight Bridge is a sweet, romantic story with a great plot and characters you’ll fall for. Definitely check this one out!
