Weekly Wrap-Up – 12/11/15

What We've Been Reading and Loving This Week on Pretty Sassy Cool

Welcome to a new Week in Review. Each week, we’ll let you know what we’ve been reading and checking out, whether it’s books, movies, shows, or anything else 🙂

We haven’t had a wrap-up post in a few weeks, so there’s a lot to talk about!

Hameedah: Hello all, missed you guys so much, haven’t watched much but rewatched old series because i’ve been a reading machine. Surpassed my Goodreads reading challenge, got my netgalley ratio to 93% and read some good books.

I’ve just finished Into the Dim and Fire Falling this month and they were so so good. I also read the The Wrath and the Dawn, Six of Crows, Jellicoe Road, Brooklyn and Beale, and The Raven Boys. I Freaking loved The Wrath and the Dawn and Brooklyn and Beale, going to give Six of Crows and The Raven Boys another try they were just meh to me. I’m also reading The House by Christina Lauren and since I was approved to read firsts (YESSSS), Thicker Than Water and Thief of Lies are next ohhh and Beyond the Red. Amazing ARCS I read were The Queen by Tiffany Reisz and The Revolution of IvyAlive By Scott Sigler. I recommend everyone read If You’re Lucky By Yvonne Prinz and 50 Ways to Ruin a Rake, SO GOOD.

But I cannot wait for 2016, this year will have some Epic Releases!

Kassiah: Hey ya’ll. *waves* We missed you too, Hameedah! What a great list, Hameedah! I am so happy you read On Jellicoe Road. It’s one of my favorites and I think people forget about it!

Katie: Hello everyone! I am currently reading See Me by Nicholas Sparks and up next is The Light of Hidden Flowers by Jennifer Handford.

So my goal for the year was to read 50 books. I know to some of you this may not sound like much, but considering that I only read 15 books last year it was a big leap for me. Well, I’m on my 65th book right now and I am pretty pleased with this. I’m still trying to decide what my goal for 2016 will be but I’ll let you know as soon as I figure that out.

I also read The Wrath & The Dawn this year and I loved it as well!

Hameedah: That’s an awesome goal Katie, you should enter the #RockMyTBR challenge and #cramathon challenge, fun ways to help reading goals

Katie: Thank you! I will check it out and most likely start that with the new year.

Totally unrelated, but what did you all think of The Walking Dead’s mid-season finale? Were you on the edge of your seat during the last few minutes like I was? I was wishing I could reach through the screen and muffle his mouth for sure…

Kassiah: That’s awesome, Katie. Congrats on exceeding your goal! I don’t watch TWD, but my husband does. I know it was intense! As usual, I’ve been reading a TON but never remember to come back and let ya’ll know. That’s one of my new year’s resolutions: write reviews as I go!

Katie: I just finished reading The Light of Hidden Flowers by Jennifer Handford yesterday and I really enjoyed it. I recommend it for anyone that wants a book that will bring on the feels. Now I am currently reading The Killing Jar by Jennifer Bosworth and it is bizarre so far. I’m 33% in and I think it’s about to start explaining all the things that are leaving me confused. It is definitely a unique book.

Kassiah: You always read the scary books, Katie. 😉

We’ve got a bunch of giveaways going on here and on SwoonyBoys Podcast. We’ve also posted lots of fun interviews and reviews, so don’t forget to check them out in case you missed anything!
