Sorry for the delay–Kass was out of town with no intarwebz. So here’s our last week’s Week in Review:
Hameedah: So finally home with Internet yay, I haven’t read any books just some small fics, I’m mainly catching up on TV this week. So Game of Thrones…… the first episode was tame compared to others but butbut * i shouldn’t have* butiwatchedtheotherleakedepisodesonlybecausetheTVappiusehadthemupalready and they were filled with craziness, ok i should stop before I spoil.
Betsy: Hameedah, you bad, bad, bad girl. LOL. I finally caught up with Game of Thrones last night. This season looks to be filled with the crazy. Which is par for the course with this show. Daenerys has lost control of fiery breath babies. Oooops.
Episode 110 of Outlander was freaking fantastic. Lots of changes from the book, but I’m trying very hard to separate the two. Very difficult when you love the books so much, but at least I wasn’t angry all week like after 109. *snort* And that was a real shame, because 109 was excellent except for one scene. Pfft. Next week should be very interesting. Witch trial and escape methinks. Already seeing some story differences from trailers. Will have to wait and see how it plays out.
Okay, so some of you know I traveled to New York City last weekend to march with a group of Outlander fans sponsored by Starz in the Tartan Parade. We marched 10 blocks down 6th Avenue with cheering fans on both sides and pipe bands in front and behind. At the Friday night ceilidh (Gaelic for party) at the New York Caledonian Club, I got to meet and get a pic taken with Graham McTavish, this year’s Grand Marshall and the actor who plays Dougal MacKenzie in Outlander. Lovely, patient and kind man. It wasn’t to be the first encounter with Mr. McTavish. He came down to visit us at the start of the parade that next day and got everyone shouting “Tulach Ard” very loudly. I was marching in the first group, in the fifth row and got to watch the action. We also got to hang out with Graham later Saturday evening at another special event for fans of Outlander.
We also had a lovely young man as our piper. Elias Alexander, actor, piper, fiddler, singer and all around hilarious hoot of a guy and oh yeah, pretty hot. I have pics and as soon as I figure out how to get them to Kass, I will post a few. It was really an amazing experience. Elias piped the Skye Boat song (Outlander’s Theme) and we all sang it. Got chills.
I haven’t been reading a whole lot of anything this weekend. Trying to finish up a couple of projects and reading a book from Netgalley with very questionable (for me) subject matter. More about this next week.
Kassiah: So glad you had fun, Betsy. I didn’t watch the leaked episodes of GoT; in fact, I kind of wish I could wait until all of season 5 is up to watch.
I’ve been reading lots–will update next week. Love ya’ll
What have you been up to lately, pretties?
