Welcome to a new Week in Review. Each week, we’ll let you know what we’ve been reading and checking out, whether it’s books, movies, shows, or anything else 🙂
Kassiah: Where has the time gone? And how lame am I for never posting a wrap-up? Maybe more crazy than lame.
I can’t go back as far as our last Week In Review but I can say there’s been lots going on, on all of our sites. We’ve got awesome giveaways going on here and on Swoony Boys Podcast. We’ve posted reviews and super cool podcast episodes as well as some fun interviews. Oh! And I have to mention our countdown to Game of Thrones Season Five that we’re doing where we discuss all things Khal DrogoGame of Thrones. Of course, this is the thing that got me hooked:
So, what else have I been up to besides reading bunches of books and carting my kids around? I’m in the middle of remodeling my house, scraping the icky popcorn ceilings and clearing out the clutter. I’d like to put it on the market but who knows if I’ll ever get there. I did get hubs to build me some amazing book shelves, so there’s that.
In beauty world, I’ve become obsessed with Manny Mua and watch his videos like it’s my religion. If you don’t know who Manny is, you should.
Personally, I have been having some trouble with my lid primer not giving me the lasting effect that I need. I have used UDPP for years as well as Benefit’s Stay Don’t Stray. I’ve heard that the Nars brand might be a better fit for me so I’m going to try that out. I also am wondering about sunless-tanning lotion. Have ya’ll used any that you love/hate?
Pretty much, I’ve been obsessed with GoT, and even though ya’ll know I never watch TV, I did start watching the Bachelor this season. I was always #TeamBritt so I’m excited that she’ll be one of the Bachelorettes. I’ll watch if she stays on but I’m flouncing Kaitlyn because…I just don’t get the appeal.
That’s it for me. What have ya’ll been up to?
Betsy: Oh Kass, I love Game of Thrones and was cast to the depths of despair when Khal Drogo went away. Not even the three cute baby dragons could distract me from that loss. I’m mostly caught up on the series and can’t wait for the new one. That poster with Tyrion and the biggest, baddest-ass dragon swooping in. Like whoa.
Also, gearing up for the second half of Outlander. Watching the Paleyfest purple carpet and seeing all that hotness and a Sambun. Gone is the mountain man, homeless guy look. Holy hotness. Continuing in the Scottish vein, I’ll be marching with a group of 200 Outlander fans sponsored by Starz in the annual Tartan Day Parade in the Big Apple next month. Should be a hoot. Graham McTavish, who plays Dougal MacKenzie in Outlander, is the Grand Marshall this year.
I’ve been reading, reading, and more reading. Finished Brotherhood of the Blade, one of the Lord John Grey books, by Diana Gabaldon. He is such a fantastic character and his books are mysteries and very fun to read. Also read a new-to-me YA series book called Radiance by Grace Draven. Really loved it. I think the second book comes out later this year. I’ve read lots more, but my brain is fried.
Kassiah: Oh yeah, I can’t wait for you to report on all of the Tartan Day Parade festivities, Betsy. Our readers will definitely want to tune in to our Twitter and Facebook profiles to see all the fun you’re having.
Also, I know ya’ll have been telling me to watch Outlander. I’m scared to get too hooked on another show. I mean, there’s only room for one Khal in my life.
lol
Lol Kass. YOU MUST WATCH OUTLANDER! I’m
Gonna learn to add pics and paper you with Sam Heughan’s gorgeous face. “Some like it Scot.” Just saying.
LOL Sorry I didn’t put the right pic. Maybe I’ll watch Outlander after I catch up with Game of Thrones hahahaha
Nah. You got the Grand Marshall. He is pretty awesome. Sam was in high gear and heavy hotness last night at Paleyfest. Maybe next week we can pic flail over him. And yes, YOU MUST WATCH OUTLANDER.
LOL I can’t wait. <3
