After taking a job on a quiet Montana dude ranch, ex-cop Rylan Frederickson finds herself surrounded by unbelievably sexy cowboys. Too bad the one she wants is her boss...and the single dad of a four-year-old. It doesn’t matter anyway, because after a recent tragedy, there’s simply no more room in her heart.

Letting a new woman into their life is the last thing Cole Haywood wants for him and his daughter, Birdie. But as Rylan’s presence at Paint River Ranch breathes new life into his family he can’t ignore his growing attraction.

When the sparks between them turn into fireworks in bed, Rylan’s torn between the family she’s lost and the one she may have found. Now she must decide if something that feels this good is worth the risk.

Erin: A cowboy, a precocious 4 year old, and a strong willed woman trying to move on after a tragedy is the perfect mix in Elizabeth Otto’s Tempting the Cowboy, the first book in her new Paint River Ranch series published by Entangled,. Set in the rich and beautiful Montana countryside, Tempting the Cowboy was all kinds of steamy, romantic fun. Cowboys are always such sexy heroes and Cole Haywood is no different. There’s always something just so appealing about a brooding, stoic guy who loves the land and his family. When Rylan Frederickson shows up at Paint River Ranch to be the new housekeeper, after leaving her job as a big city police officer, things on the ranch are going to change.

This was a light, easy read with believable characters. A little over the top at times, and there were plenty of instances where the author told instead of showed that slowed the book down and made for a bit of choppy writing. All in all though, this was enjoyable and I’m looking forward to seeing what comes next in the series.
