We ❤ Ella Frank’s Temptation series and couldn’t wait to read the latest book, Tate, featuring sexy Logan Mitchell and Tate Morrison. We’ve got a fun interview with the guys up first for you, plus our thoughts on the book and a fantastic excerpt. Let’s get right to it!

***INTERVIEW***

Thanks for stopping by Pretty Sassy Cool today, guys. We know your time is precious so we’ll get right to it! For both of you: Last thing you put in your mouth…

~Both laugh ~
Logan: They all think I’m going to be caught out here, but alas, an espresso. Tate, what was the last thing you had in your mouth hmm…?
Tate: ~ Shakes his head ~ I plead the fifth.
Logan: Huh… no, that won’t do. ~ Looks to the interviewer ~ Plus, I was actually the one pleading by the time he was done with what was in his mouth. It was a very good morning.

*grin* Logan, did you ever think that when you first spoke to Tate he would become the most special person in your life?

Logan: No. I knew I wanted him. That there was something about him from the second I met him that made me need him. It was crazy…like an addiction. I’d never felt that. I was so focused and determined to touch him, and once I did, it was all fucking over.

Tate, what’s the most endearing thing Logan has done during your relationship?

Tate: Oh God. I can’t think of just one. The funny thing is, Logan has a side to him that no one but me gets to see. And that’s what is most endearing. That he lets down all of his walls with me. The cocky, arrogant shell he hides behind…he lets that down and trusts me to look after that part of him.

😍 For both of you: If you could swap places with one another, what’s the one thing you would do while in the other’s body?

~ Laugh and laugh and laugh ~
Logan: This could get really perverted.
Tate: Like that would be anything new for you.
Logan: I mean…I’d do what I do already. I’d run my damn hands all the fuck over myself—sorry Tate’s self.
Tate: ~ Laughs ~ I’d do that, and then I’d put on a super sharp suit and walk down a street just watch the way people look at me. Because Logan in a suit, fuck me…
Logan: Well I wasn’t gonna go there. Shit Tate, fucking yourself is even a little too perverted for me.

*laughs* For both of you: Favorite thing about living together?

Logan: ~Looks over at Tate and takes his hand in his ~ That I get to see him whenever I want. That if I have something to tell him, he’s right there and I can talk to him. I love that when I walk around a corner he’s right there in the next room. And when I wake up he’s stretched out beside me.
Tate: I told you. He is forever surprising right? ~Squeezes Logan’s hand ~ I love that I get to watch him sleep, I get to see him when he is peaceful. And I love that he finds that with his arms wrapped around me. I also love watching him get ready for work ~winks~

We love that! Thanks so much for chatting with us today, Logan and Tate. It was fun!

William Tate MorrisonThe man who came into my life and turned my entire world—and me—on its ass.

Logan Mitchell has always been a man with a plan.
One for work. One for his relationship. And one for his life. Which is exactly the way he liked it—until recently.
Now with words like marriage and weddings floating around his head, Logan’s plans have suddenly changed course, and where they want him to go has him feeling somewhat distracted.

Tate Morrison knows Logan better than anybody else—or so he thinks. So when his lawyer is finding it hard to sleep at night, he chalks it up to the craziness that has recently descended on their lives.
Never in a million years would he guess what’s really on Logan’s mind.

Tate is the fifth book in the Temptation Series, and the next chapter in the lives of the two men we have all come to know and love.

***EXCERPT***

When Logan came to a stop in the doorway, he spotted Tate seated cross-legged on the floor in amongst piles of books, DVDs, and paperwork in various files and binders. There was stuff everywhere, and when Tate looked over his shoulder at Logan, he couldn’t stop himself from smiling at the picture he made.

Tate was wearing grey sweats and a faded green t-shirt with some band he’d seen years ago printed on it. But that wasn’t what had Logan crossing to him, wanting a kiss. No, that’d be all those damn curls. They were sticking out all over the place and framing his face as Tate aimed that charming grin of his up at Logan.

Logan bent down and pressed a kiss to those curved lips, and Tate hummed and gladly returned it. “Looks like you’ve made some progress,” Logan said.

Tate looked around and nodded. “Yeah, a bit. God, that smells amazing.”

“Here.” Logan handed him the box. “No point in moving. I’ll grab some paper towels and drinks. What do you want?”

Tate put the pizza box down in front of him. “A water.”

Logan shook his head and then headed out to the kitchen, calling over his shoulder, “I’ll never understand how you drink water with your pizza. That’s just wrong.”

“I’ve always had water with it. Habit, I guess. Oh, hey? Are you still okay with going to Jill’s this weekend?”

Logan grabbed the paper towels, a Coke and water from the fridge, and then walked back into the study, tossing the bottled water. “Yeah, of course. I assume you decided it would be a good idea?”

“I don’t know that I’d go that far. But I want to see my nephews, and I’d really like you to meet them and my friends.”

Logan tried to keep his face neutral as Tate’s words went straight to his heart. But damn, not only was he proud of Tate, he felt incredibly loved by him in that moment. “Then we should go.”

Tate flipped open the pizza box and scooted over to make room for him, and as Logan took up the vacated spot, he let his eyes wander around the disaster zone and cleared his throat. “This room is a mess.”

Tate tore off a paper towel and then picked up a slice of the deep-dish pepperoni they’d decided on. “I’m thinking it’ll probably take us the longest. Who knew we had so much junk in here?”

Logan reached for a DVD set sitting on the top of the pile and screwed his nose up. “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe? Really? I think we need a trash pile. Have you started one of those?”

“Hey,” Tate said around a bite of his pizza. “Don’t even think about it. I grew up watching that.”

“The important part of that sentence is you grew up.” Logan flipped the DVD over in his hand, read the back of the box, and then raised a questioning eyebrow. “This might actually explain a few things about you.”

“Really?” Tate rolled his eyes. “Then it must also explain a few things about the majority of young boys in the eighties. That was a popular show. You aren’t throwing it out; it’s nostalgic. Plus, you never know, if you sat down and watched an episode with me, you just might like it.”

“Highly doubtful.” Logan put the box down and reached for a slice of pizza.

“Okay. Okay. I know you were more into books than TV,” Tate said, as his eyes went to the mountains of literature stacked in piles against the far wall. “What was something you read as a boy? Is it in one of those piles?”

Logan swallowed his mouthful of food and looked over at the books while Tate kept on talking.

“I mean, there are some pretty old-looking ones mixed in there with the autobiographies, textbooks, and National Geographics.”

Logan looked back to Tate and narrowed his eyes. “Pretty old ones? What am I, sixty?”

Tate unscrewed his water and took a long gulp, draining half of it, then put the lid back on and set it down. “Nope. About to turn thirty-eight, last time I checked.”

“How about you stop checking?”

***Our Thoughts***

Erin: As a reader as well as a reviewer favorite series are a tricky thing. Sometimes they go on too long and lose their appeal, and other times you just want them to go on and on. For me, I definitely count Ella Frank’s Temptation series in the latter category. I could read about Logan Mitchell and Tate Morrison forever, no lie. These characters are larger than life, so real and appealing that I always want more and more. If you haven’t had an opportunity to read the first four books of the series, you can’t start with Tate as each book builds on the one before and you’d lose SO much by not starting at the beginning. I’m going to approach my review assuming a) you’ve already read the books in the series leading up to Tate and b) if you haven’t, you are here because of that gorgeous cover (and really, who could blame you?!) or the blurb intrigued you. I won’t spoil anything, I promise.

So, our guys, Logan and Tate, have been together for a few years now. Things are looking up for both of them; professionally they’re at the top of their games. Tate’s bar, The Popped Cherry, is hugely successful and Logan is one of the preeminent lawyers in Chicago. In fact, his firm is doing so well they’ve brought in a new partner and have expanded their office to now two floors in downtown Chicago. Logan’s corner office with a spectacular view shows just how on top of his game he is, and it’s well-deserved. Personally, things couldn’t be going better for these two, so much in fact they’ve recently decided to make a concerted effort to spend more time together now that their professional lives are going so swimmingly. Their love, their on-fire chemistry keeps their relationship fresh and new. They’re even moving into a new house together. So, as you can see, the couple is strong and steady.

The romance Ella Frank writes between Logan and Tate is equal parts hot and intense and emotional and intimate. These two have come SUCH a long way from the beginning. It takes a lot of skill to be able to have your characters continue to grow over five books and counting. Ella Frank has delivered this brilliantly and then some. There are moments that will make you cry (trust me, you’ll need some Kleenex in Tate) and laugh and need a cool glass of water. Each book in the series has gotten better and now there’s an excellent balance between the sex scenes and the everyday ones. Seeing Tate and Logan at work or with their friends or Tate’s dad or Logan’s brother and sister-in-law are every bit as moving and integral as the sizzling hot sexy times.

For those who’ve read the series up until this point, you might think you know how this book is going to go based on the ending of book 4, but do yourselves a HUGE favor and try to keep from guessing. Go into Tate blind–no spoilers, no peeking, no guessing–just dive in and enjoy. If you haven’t yet started, I hope my review, the cover, and the praise for this series encourages you to pick up book one, Try, and jump in. Once you do, you won’t stop until you’ve devoured all five books, I promise you. Even if you’ve never read an MM book before, go ahead and take the leap. You won’t be sorry! The journey isn’t over for these guys, and I can’t wait to see where Ella Frank takes them next!
