{Interview} with Elizabeth Hayley, author of Just Say Yes (with Review)

We were blown away by Just Say Yes, so we knew we had to have the authors stop by for a chat!

***INTERVIEW***

Thanks for coming by Pretty Sassy Cool today, Elizabeth and Hayley. We’ll get right to it! Describe Just Say Yes in one Tweet. 140 characters or less–no cheating

Tatted chef & sweet columnist find that just saying yes is sometimes the hardest thing to do.

What was your favorite part of Just Say Yes to write?

Elizabeth: I always love the emotionally-charged scenes so I really enjoyed writing the high-tension scenes between Tim and Quinn.
Hayley: I like writing emotional scenes that have a touch of humor to them. Just when you think you’re about to cry, we can hopefully make you laugh.

We definitely laughed! What is the most interesting thing you have Googled in the name of research?

Elizabeth: Hitchhiking laws in Virginia.
Hayley: How to spell chikungunya.

haha How would you introduce Quinn to readers?

Adorably sweet, but looking to add some edge.

*nods* Why will our readers swoon over Tim? We want to know all the things!

He’s tatted, he can cook, he’s kind, humble, and has a dark past that he overcame because he wanted to be someone his brother could be proud of.

We really him. If you could introduce one of your characters to another character from any other book, who would it be and why?

This is such a great question. I’d like to introduce Amanda from SEX SNOB to Cass, who will be the heroine in our upcoming book THE WEDDING AGREEMENT because I think their attitudes toward relationships are similar and Cass could learn a lot from Amanda’s experience with Shane.

We can’t wait for that book. How would you describe yourself in three words?

Elizabeth: Quiet, Creative, Funny
Hayley: Loud, Caring, Funny

What is the one thing readers would be surprised to learn about you?

New readers are typically surprised to find out that there are two of us. We don’t even think this blog knew 😉

We totally knew. But, uh, not until your publicist reminded us. *sheepish grin* Which character makes you swoon the most (yours or someone else’s)?

Elizabeth: I fell really hard for Jamie Maguire’s character Travis Maddox. He was beautifully flawed. I love him long time.
Hayley: I have to say Gavin from Gail McHugh’s COLLIDE. He’s sweet, fun, and so realistic that he could actually be a real guy. Let me know if you find him 😉

Unffff Gavin. (We like Travis, too). Do you have any current or future projects you can tell us about?

We recently finished up the third novel in our Strictly Business series, THE WEDDING AGREEMENT, which will be released May 3, 2016. We’re also hoping to release two novellas to give the stories of two other characters from this series. And we have two full-length series we hope to develop soon.

Is there ever anything that you always wish someone would ask you, but they never do?

We’d love it if someone asked us if we wanted to quit our jobs and write full time.

We hope you get asked that really soon, ladies. Thanks again for coming by, Elizabeth and Hayley. We can’t wait to get our ::grabbyhands:: on Just Say Yes!

***About the Authors***

Author Elizabeth HayleyElizabeth Hayley is actually “Elizabeth” and “Hayley,” two friends who love reading romance novels to obsessive levels. This mutual love prompted them to put their English degrees to good use by penning their own. The product is Pieces of Perfect, their debut novel. They learned a ton about one another through the process, like how they clearly share a brain and have a persistent need to text each other constantly (much to their husbands’ chagrin).

They live with their husbands and kids in a suburb of Philadelphia. Thankfully, their children are still too young to read.

Elizabeth Hayley’s writing motto is best captured by the words of Patrick Dennis: “I always start with a clean piece of paper and a dirty mind.”

From the author of The Best Medicine comes the latest Strictly Business novel—and this time, for one woman, finding the ideal man can be a pretty tall order…

Magazine columnist Quinn Sawyer has always attracted sweet, innocent, and safe men. And something tells her it’s because she’s just as harmless. So when she starts craving a guy with an edge, she realizes she may have to get one for herself.

When her boss asks for a unique pitch, Quinn’s quest to live outside her comfort zone prompts her to suggest an idea that will cause her to break her good-girl rules. And who better than Tim Jacobs to help her push her boundaries? For a while now, Quinn’s had a hot crush on the tattooed executive chef with a checkered past. If anybody can bring out her inner rebel, he can.

It’s no surprise that with every task the two complete, the sparks between them grow more and more intense. Soon there’s no denying the attraction they each feel. But Tim’s troubled past reveals an even tougher edge than Quinn expected—which means for her, falling in love might just be the greatest rebellion of all.

***Our Thoughts***

As soon as I saw the cover for this book, I knew I had to read it. Just Say Yes features Quinn, who is the BFF of Lauren from The Best Medicine, the first book in the Strictly Business series by Elizabeth Hayley. I liked this one a lot more than that, so much that I kind of want to go back and change my rating for that book to slightly lower.

Moving on…

I loved the chemistry between Quinn and Tim. Falling for the best friend’s sibling is always a favorite trope of mine, and this book was awesome. It was sexy and swoony. This book was a lot of fun, and Quinn and Tim were believable. Highly recommended!
