Conflict of interest is an understatement…
Since being disowned by her strict father, Cass Stone has spent her adulthood trying to prove him wrong. Her drive has led to more success than her family ever thought she’d achieve, and life is looking great. Not even an incredible and mysterious one night stand that leaves her a single mom can trip her up...until the father of her baby stumbles back into her life, as sexy and unreliable as ever.
Logan Alexander hasn’t forgotten the night he spent with Cass two years ago, but he never expects to end up undercover as her assistant. His job saves lives—like it should have saved his brother—and he can’t afford complications. It’s difficult enough to maintain his cover as a carefree wanderer when he realizes his attraction to Cass hasn’t faded...and then he meets Cass’s daughter.
Erin: I love a good opposites attract story, and Her Secret, His Surprise by Paula Artenburg sure fits the bill. Add in an unexpected baby, and well, you have the perfect mix for a romance, right? Sure it’s been done a million times before, but in this case Logan Alexander and Cass Stone were so enjoyable that I found myself reading from beginning to end in one sitting. I started reading and before I knew it, I was at the end of the book!
This is a low-angst, high romance book that was very well written. A little bit of drama, a few surprises, and some really good chemistry and you have yourself a perfect afternoon read. The pace is great, the story flowed well, and the characters were likable (for the most part) and enjoyable. As an Entangled Bliss book, this is way more sweet than sexy, but it was a nice read just the same.
She's a Texan, though she drinks her tea plain and NOT sweet. She loves cheesecake, strawberry limeade's from Sonic and her favorite color is purple. In her books, she loves an HEA, but she never minds if the road is rough to get there, as long as the reward is worth the struggle.
