Justice served. Honor restored. Team reunited.

After a long battle to discover the truth, the men and women of Hard Ink have a lot to celebrate, especially the wedding of two of their own—Nick Rixey and Becca Merritt, whose hard-fought love deserves a happy ending.

As Nick and the team shift from crisis mode to building their new security consulting firm, Becca heads back to work at the ER. But amid the everyday chaos of demanding jobs and their upcoming nuptials, an old menace they thought long gone reemerges, threatening the peace they’ve only just found.

Now, for one last time, Nick and Becca must fight for their always and forever, because they know that when true love overcomes all the odds it lasts hard ever after.

Erin: Hard Ever After is the newest (and last?) installment in Laura Kaye’s highly entertaining Hard Ink Series. If you’re a fan of this series, and you definitely should be if you aren’t already, then like me, you’ve been waiting for the HEA for Becca and Nick. And what better way to celebrate that than with a wedding?

Like you’d expect from a wedding edition, Hard Ever After is full of sweet and fluff and all things happy. There’s so much sweet, you’re liable to get a toothache, but if anyone deserves it, it’s Nick and Becca … as well as the rest of the Hard Ink gang. They’re all here, and it really was a treat to be able to get a glimpse of them all, especially my favorite couple—Jeremy and Charlie.

Laura Kaye did an excellent job giving us an update on all the other couples, without making it seem like she was checking things and people off a list. Easy is as comforting and protective as ever, Derek as funny, Shane as gruff and Beckett is intense like always. The girls were all there too, and I really enjoyed seeing Becca and Kat’s relationship as soon-to-be sisters get stronger.

Of course there were plenty of sexy times (bordering on too many for such a short book) and Nick is still swoony and he and Becca still can bring the steam.

Grinning, she wrapped her arms around his neck. “Seriously. A man who can make the best Sloppy Joe’s on earth, helps total strangers, sings bad eighties anthems, loves his family fiercely, can kill in fifty-two ways if he has to, is smoking hot, and eats pussy like’s starved for it is a keeper.” She tried to keep a straight face, but laughter was already bubbling up inside her.

“I…am really freaking aroused now. Keep talking,” he said, his eyebrow arched, that smug smile returning.

She reached for his jeans and tugged the button open. “About what? Should I talk about how much I love your cock? How amazing it feels inside of me?”

Nick licked his lips, a kind of amused disbelief filling his gaze. “Yes, definitely talk about that. Like a lot.”

*fans self* Hotter than hot, yeah?

It wouldn’t be this group without some drama and action, and while it was easy to figure out the who and the why, it was cool to see the team kick ass and take names. If Hard Ever After IS the final book of the Hard Ink series, Laura Kaye sure has left everyone in a good place. I’m still going to keep my fingers crossed for an outtake of Charlie and Jeremy at the very least!
