Will a budding wedding planner and her bad boy neighbor stop banging heads and start hearing wedding bells in the sexy second novel in USA TODAY bestselling author Lauren Layne’s irresistible new series that marries Sex and the City with The Wedding Planner?

When small-town girl Heather Fowler finally gets promoted from assistant to actual wedding planner, she’s determined to make it as one of Manhattan’s elite Wedding Belles. Unfortunately, her first client demands an opulent black-tie affair at the Plaza…in five months’ time. Heather’s days quickly become a flurry of cake tastings, dress-fittings, RSVP cards, and bridal tantrums. But what she’s really losing sleep over is the live music blaring from her playboy neighbor’s apartment all night.

Five years ago, Josh Tanner was an up-and-comer on Wall Street, complete with the penthouse and the migraines. But a grim cancer diagnosis made him realize there is more to life than the corner office. If only he could convince his pretty, workaholic neighbor to let loose, too. As Heather lets down her guard, Josh is surprised when he starts falling for the sweet, vulnerable woman hiding beneath those power suits. Soon, it’s Heather’s turn to convince Josh to take the biggest risk of all: love.

Kassiah: For Better or Worse is the romantic follow-up to Lauren Layne’s To Have and to Hold, which you already know I enjoyed. This one focuses on Heather, who was an assistant planner and now has a shot to get a promotion when a celebrity client only wants Heather to plan the wedding of the year in just three short months. She can’t concentrate with all of the racquet going on at the apartment next door. When she bangs on the door to kindly request that they keep the music down, she doesn’t expect to be greeted by one of the hottest men she’s ever seen. More overgrown frat boy than adult in Heather’s eyes, Josh Tanner has a killer smile and killer abs. Despite the fact that neither of them are looking for a relationship, they can’t deny the chemistry between them that could burn the entire building down. They bring out the best–and worst–in each other. How long will they be able to resist?

I loved Josh. He was sweet and swoony and sarcastic.

“You’re the best I’ve ever had, too, you know?”

Heather’s heart flipped and her lust-addled brain clung to the hope that it wasn’t a line. “I never confirmed you were the best,” she teased.

Josh rubbed a thumb over her lip. “If you’re still unsure, I think I know a way I can convince you.”

I can’t help but picture Taylor Kitcsh as Josh. I don’t know why–I can’t even remember his description, but everytime he calls her “4C,” I just keep thinking about Tim Riggins. *shrugs* I’m going with it.

Taylor Kitsch as Josh Tanner

Heather was okay. She’s condescending to Josh, and I didn’t love that–at all. I liked this storyline, though I thought some of it was unrealistic. Like, Heather’s planning the wedding of the year for one of the biggest celebrities on the planet. She’s a week away from the wedding and taking time off for the Holidays. I felt like that wasn’t realistic. I did love seeing Brooke and Seth from To Have and to Hold, and I am pretty dang excited to read To Love and to Cherish, which will focus on The Belles owner, Alexis, and her hot British accountant!

With a fast-paced storyline and a swoony guy, For Better or Worse is good choice for readers who love romantic storylines with relatable characters.
