The one passion they had in common was the one that would keep them apart.
Artist Sienna Sacchi is about to have everything she’s ever dreamed of, when sexy playboy Jack Montgomery comes strolling back into her life as the owner of her gallery. Her plan to buy it herself ruined, she refuses to let him interfere with the most important thing—her debut exhibition. But Jack’s not just taking over her workplace, he’s also intruding on her art studio, her home, and maybe even her heart.
Jack Montgomery has few rules for his carefree life, but never mixing business with pleasure is one he is determined to keep. He’d planned on finally satisfying the tension between him and Sienna, but discovering he’s her boss puts an immediate end to that. Unfortunately, being forced to share a tiny apartment with the gorgeous, tempting sculptor is pushing Jack to his limits. One brush with desire could ruin everything they’ve worked for.
Erin: Ohhhh this book was fun! Annie Seaton’s new book, Brushing off the Boss, is book 2 in her Half Moon Bay series but can surely be read as a standalone. If you’re a fan of a well-written, flirty romance full of relatable characters, then look no farther than this one, people.
Sienna and Jack are both wonderful. Jack is an artist (can I hear a *sigh*?!) and a playboy and just happens to own the art gallery that Sienna is going to have her artwork shown in, not mention, she has dreams of buying the gallery. So right there you know the sparks will be flying as these two try to manage being employee and boss and fight their attraction at the same time. Readers of this series will remember seeing both Sienna and Jack in the first book, and though there was a hint of a date for them, we learn that never came to be. This time around, due to Jack’s playboy image and Sienna’s broken heart at having her dream stolen from her, there are some rough roads ahead for these two.
I liked watching Jack and Sienna build their relationship. Both of them are thoroughly likeable and I was rooting for them to figure things out and fall in love. Annie Seaton has created a delightful place in Half Moon Bay and this book is one you definitely want to curl up in your favorite spot and escape into the people and the setting. I’ll definitely be checking out the next book in the series to see what happens next.
She's a Texan, though she drinks her tea plain and NOT sweet. She loves cheesecake, strawberry limeade's from Sonic and her favorite color is purple. In her books, she loves an HEA, but she never minds if the road is rough to get there, as long as the reward is worth the struggle.
