What won't he do for a second chance?

Former model Kelly Hurley has finally put the ashes of the past behind her. After a passionate but turbulent marriage to rock star Vaughan Hurley that ended in heartbreak and divorce, Kelly rebuilt her life in Portland, where she settled so their two young daughters could be close to their father. Just not so close Kelly couldn’t truly make her own way without interference from the man who shattered her heart. Now Kelly’s finally ready to move on, and she’s planning to marry another man.

But not if Vaughan has anything to say about it.

Vaughan knows he was a fool all those years ago. A young, selfish—and prideful—fool. Even as he buried himself in the fast, decadent rock star lifestyle, he could never drown out the memory of Kelly’s beauty and love. Or the sweet, searing heat whenever they touched. For years, he’s had to deal with the pain of seeing her only because of their daughters, but it was never enough. Now Vaughan must prove that he’s the only man Kelly needs, before he loses her for good. And there’s only one way to do it….

Erin: Lauren Dane is one of those authors whose words and storytelling is on a level very few can reach. I devour her stories like candy and like an addict, always ALWAYS wish for more. Back to You is book three of her fabulous Hurley Boys series—and I can’t stress enough my love for all the Hurley boys and the previous two books. If you haven’t read the first two, correct that immediately.

Back to You is the story of Vaughan Hurley, the youngest brother and member of the rock band Sweet Hallow Ranch. Being in a band with your brothers isn’t easy, nor is being the youngest. Vaughan is at a cross roads. His ex-wife, who he is still madly in love with, is about to get engaged to another man and Vaughan vows to do whatever it takes to win Kelly back. They married young after a brief, passionate love affair, had two daughters who Vaughan adores, and then he let the marriage crash and burn while he lived the highlife as a rock star—and all that brought with it.

These two … whoa. Their chemistry, as in all of Lauren Dane’s books, is off the charts hot. I’m talking incendiary. Kelly is feisty and sassy and though she’s never stopped loving Vaughan, she is definitely no pushover. The thing I love almost most of all in all of Lauren Dane’s books is how STRONG her women are. They love hard, they love to have sex, and they’re not ashamed of demanding what they want and that their men respect them no matter how down and dirty the sexy times can be.

“Tell me what you’re thinking,” he said, lying next to her, his leg over hers as he kissed her shoulder and up her neck. He’d always made her feel this way. The center of everything. It had been amazing until she realized he showed it too rarely.

But now? She took it for what it was. And hoped it was more. But she didn’t count on it, because he hadn’t earned it yet.

But she wanted him to.

She could have said all that, but she didn’t want to talk. She wanted him in her. More than she’d wanted sex in a very long time. It didn’t matter that she’d been engaged to marry someone else just a week before.

She’d wanted this with Vaughan for so long. Guilt over messing up with Ross would return later.

“Fuck me. That’s pretty much it. Over and over.”

He laughed. “Oh, I will. I promise.”

“Less promising, more doing. I’m all about action, Vaughan.”

He kissed her long and slow. Tasting, taking his time. “You’ve always been bossy. In bed it’s a fantastic quality.”

I love second chance stories. I love the history and the rebuilding and the way both parties have to learn to forgive and decide what’s important and work together to forge ahead. Back to You is full of sweet, tender moments—a tatted up reformed bad boy rock star sitting in the kitchen doing homework with his daughters is ALWAYS melty—as well as the hot, steamy moments no one delivers like Lauren Dane. This book, the whole series, is about family and love (the brother’s relationships are ALL amazing!) and finding out what’s important and doing whatever it takes to hold onto it. I can’t recommend this book and series enough!
