{Interview} with Anne Elizabeth, author of A SEAL Forever (with Giveaway)

A Seal Forever Anne Elizabeth

If you’re anything like us, you know we love Navy Seals. So we were thrilled when we were invited to participate in the Blog Tour for the third book in romance author Anne Elizabeth’s West Coast Navy SEALs series, A SEAL Forever. We got to sit down and chat with Anne about her latest title and more, and we’ve got a fabulous giveaway to share with you. First, let’s get right to the interview with Anne Elizabeth:

***INTERVIEW***

Thanks for chatting with us on Pretty Sassy Cool today, Anne! We’re happy to have you. Describe A SEAL Forever in ten words or less (we know, this one is brutal!).

You must love you…before you love someone else.

What was your favorite part to write?

The scene with Declan and the children at the gym was my favorite part. There’s something beautiful and renewing about being around kids and their enthusiasm is joyful and contagious.

We loved that part, too. We have to admit that soldiers make us weak in the knees. What kind of research did you do to prepare for the West Coast Navy SEALs series?

I did a lot of research from personal interviews to secondary research in terms of history books and biographies. It also helped a lot having my own sexy SEAL to turn to and to ask questions when I was in a pinch.

*grin* We’re sure that helped! How do you stay on the edge of sexy without going over into gross territory?

Good question! I use the MOM EXPLANATION. If I’m too embarrassed to describe it to her (she’s a nurse), I know I’ve gone too far.

Oh that’s great! How was your approach to writing A SEAL Forever different from writing the other books in the series?

I spoke with disabled veterans and active duty soldiers and sailors who had been wounded in combat. Their experiences were heartbreaking! I wanted to honor them with this book.

How would you introduce Maura to readers?

Maura is the girl next door with several additional points. She’s physically and mentally strong and a very capable individual. Being all of those things doesn’t deter her, especially when the man next door is a sexy Navy SEAL who makes her pulse race. But, falling for a man and standing by his side when times get tough are two different things. She doesn’t give her love easily, and she’s the kind of soul who stands firm and faces the challenge.

Will our readers swoon over Declan? We want to know all the things!

I do. I think most romance writers fall in love with their hero. For me, I always write about my husband. He’s my hero and my love.

Awww! If you could introduce one of your characters to another character from any other book, who would it be and why?

I think Declan would enjoy meeting any of the alpha males from Suzanne Brockmann’s books. They’d all sit around sharing stories and drinking beer.

That would be epic. How would you describe yourself in three words?

Persistent. Dedicated. Loving.

What is the one thing readers would be surprised to learn about you?

I adore comedy. I often watch stand-up comedians—they crack me up!

Which character makes you swoon the most (yours or someone else’s)?

All of my SEAL men make me swoon. Of course, there’s a little bit of my husband in all of them.

Do you have any current or future projects you can tell us about?

I have another West Coast Navy SEAL book releasing next year. It’s a blast! And, it will have fans on the edge their chairs.

We can’t wait for that! Is there ever anything that you always wish someone would ask you, but they never do?

I wish fans would ask whatever genres interested me. FYI, I adore science fiction and horror.

We are surprised by that answer! Thanks again for stopping by today, Anne!
